What is the auction archive?

The main goal of the auction archive is to connect buyers and sellers. Here at BiggerBids, our support channel regularly gets requests for information about our sellers. Of course, we do not release that information for obvious privacy concerns. However, for many sellers, that may mean a lost sale.

So the obvious question becomes, 'How do buyers find an auction without finding the seller's contact information?' It is a combination of two things - search engines and our sellers' auction image galleries. Search engines will only "index" an auction for a limited time, because it will eventually be closed down by the auction site (ie. eBay). However, our image galleries remain active until a seller permanently deletes that auction from his/her BiggerBids account. Therefore, the search engines will retain those images (along with their auction title) in their search index. So any particular buyer may do a search (say on Google) for the item that the seller sold. Amongst the many results, that buyer may find the BiggerBids image gallery for that item. The buyer then clicks in, sees that it is exactly what they are looking for, and cannot find a seller's contact information. The BiggerBids auction archive hopes to change that. Now, once an item has been archived by the seller, its image gallery will display a link to that item's archive location.

How can I get my items listed in the archive?

All BiggerBids members have the ability to archive their auctions. As a subscribed BiggerBids.com member, you can create an unlimited number of auctions and enjoy unlimited image hosting. Within your BiggerBids account, you simply establish a few parameters about the information you want to provide in your listings, such as links to your eBay feedback, eBay Me Page, eBay Store (and eBay Store categories), and even your eBay listings. Then, your archived auctions will automatically display those links. You can even create multiple "selling profiles" and establish different linking parameters for each.

How are the archives sorted?

The auction archives are first arranged according to categories and tags. Sellers place each archived auction in one of the defined categories. The archived auction can then "float" higher in the results pages as the number of unique visits to that archived auction increases. Therefore, the most viewed auctions rank highest in the category and tag lists.
