This camera has only been used once and is in pristine condition and working order. All pictures taken here are of the camera being sold. Original instruction booklet in English included.I was given this excellent camera as a christmas present a few years ago. I had at the time gone out of the habit of taking decent photographs, deferring instead to a pocket digital camera and it was hence only used once, for a weekend break soon after I recieved it. I was recently given a digital SLR and now have no need for this camera.Ultra-Compact, lightweight and high-quality SLR camera. In its time it was a winner of the Best Buy SLR by Which Camera. Successor to New EOS Kiss/REBEL G/500N, Canon aimed this model at enthusiast and semi-professional photographers. Improvements to its predecessor are mainly in a higher performance AF system with seven focusing-point wide-view AF system is used instead of the conventional three focusing-point AF. The focusing speed is equivalent to that of the EOS 55/ELAN II E/50E. This camera has an impressive 35-zone evaluative metering instead of the 6-zones in the EOS500N. Depth of field preview is another advancement, a function key locking down the aperture to that selected for the shot, giving the operator a preview of the depth of field and focus through the viewfinder. Film advance through the carriage has been increased to 1.5 fps and a shorter viewfinder black-out time during exposure. Ergonomically, the EOS300 performs as well as more modern Canon SLRs with an excellent grip, balance and both positioning and movement of the various function dials in use, always within the forefinger's easy reach. The camera body is two-tone silver and black. The Battery Pack PB-200 for size-AA batteries with a vertical-grip shutter button is separately available (4,500 yen). Compatible with all Canon AF lenses.Specific features include:Auto-Focus with 7 focusing points.3 metering modes – 35 zone Evaluative, Partial and Centre Weighted 4 Automatic modes – Portrait, Landscape, Sport and Close Up 5 user-controlled modes - Shutter Speed Priority, Aperture Priority and Manual Exposure Exposure Compensation up to +/- 2 stops Auto-exposure bracketing Depth of Filed preview function via aperture lock-down Shutter speeds from 30 to 1/2000 sec and manual bulb setting Automatic multiple exposure function i.e. preset mutiple exposures with one each shutter release pressing Built-in pop-up flash with auto E-TTL flash exposure control linked to the active focus point Red-eye reduction feature Self-timer Compatible with all Canon AF lenses |
