    This lens is the perfect walk-around lens for those of us that don't like changing lenses all the time. Its huge focal range of 28-300mm gives it a 10.7:1 zoom ratio and is perfect for everything from wide-angle landscapes and indoor shots to travel and nature photography. This lens covers all bases. Optically, this lens boasts Super Low Dispersion (SLD) glass and aspherical lens elements for top shelf performance. Build quality is excellent, being solidly made and featuring a very classy-looking satin black finish with red ring at the front. The zoom and focus rings both have a tactile rubberized finish that it easy to grip and the action is nicely damped. This lens is also equipped with a 'zoom lock' device to prevent the zoom setting from being changed inadvertently and boasts internal focusing (IF). The non-rotating front element makes using circular polarizing and graduated neutral density filters a practical proposition. Sigma have made several versions of this lens. This is the later MACRO version with 62mm filter threads and should not be confused with the older and inferior non-Macro models featuring 67mm and 72mm filter threads. This version is 5 ounces lighter and 1/4 inch shorter but, most importantly, shows considerable optical improvement over its predecessors and features a true Macro mode with a 1:3 magnification ratio and 50cm / 19.7 inches minimum focusing distance at all focal lengths. This lens is in IMMACULATE condition. Glass is free of any scratches, haze or fungus and the lens body is factory-fresh.
