ANTIQUE VICTORIAN 835 SILVER CIGARETTE HOLDER ASHTRAY

This antique 835 silver Victorian cigarette holder and ash- tray probably belonged to a refined and sophisticated lady of means. The ashtray is marked with the letters "AB" inside of a circle or oval and the number 835. The cigarette holder only has the marking 835. Both pieces have been used to some extent as the photos indicate. There is one chip in the black part of the cigarette holder. The cigarette holder is 3 1/2 " long and the ashtray is 2 1/2 " in diameter. The 835 mark most likely dates these pieces as turn of the century. Based on some research the 835 mark also means that these two pieces are of European origin.
