"Doubled Back"For me, the grizzly bear is a very special animal.  His presence adds an excitement that no other North American animal can match.I've created this painting to share with you the sense of excitement I feel in grizzly country.  I've taken you to a small mountain valley.  The remnant snow patches clearly chow the tracks of a large grizzly.  How long has it been since he was standin right here, where is he now?Look closely at those tracks.  The snow is crisp and clean.  The edges haven't begun to melt yet.  Nothing has been blown into those big muddy impressins.  They are fresh.  How far ahead is he?  Not far, not far at all...- Bev DoolittleAbout Bev Doolitle (From COA)  Bev Doolittle’s subject matter is provided by the out-of-doors.  “I love nature,” she says.  “I try to look beyond the obvious and create unique, meaningful paintings that depict our Western wilderness and its inhabitants.  I start with a concept and then attempt to convey it through strong design coupled with detailed realism.  I want people to think when they look at my paintings.” Bev Doolittle was born and grew up in California.  In 1968, she graduated from the Art Center College of Design in Los Angeles.  She met her husband, Jay, at school, and they started married life with a painting trip to Bryce Canyon and Zion National Parks – a portent of things to come.  For the next five years, however, the Doolittles were engaged in advertising art and TV production in Los Angeles. “It paid well, but after awhile I wasn’t learning,” Bev explains, “and we didn’t like living in the city.  We wanted to be close to nature, and we wanted to travel.”  They have now accomplished both; their frequent travels and backpacking trips have covered the western United States, Canada, Baja, California, and East Africa, and they now live close to nature in California.Please Note This is an artist signed limited edition numbered 12040 of 15000.  The dimensions of the frame around this print are approximately 25" x 38".Unfortunately, the original certificate of authenticity for this print was lost.  However, it is a signed and numbered print that has been verified as authentic by an authorized Greenwhich Workshop Dealer (Maura's of Harvard).  Please see authentication documentation in pictures.  Click any picture to see it up close.  Please also take a look at our feedback to see that we have been selling a large collection of Bev Doolittle (all from one collector) prints.
