"The Good Omen" Occasionally, while hiking in the desert near my home, I'll get lucky.  I will see a golden eagle!  The sight of this great bird soaring free in its natural environment is always inspiring to me. The eagle was also a source of inspiration for the Indian.  Indians envisioned the golden eagle as a representative of the Great Spirit.  Dressed in eagle feathers, they felt themselves to be surrounded by a part of the Great Spirit's power.  To view a golden eagle while on a raiding or hunting expedition was considered especially lucky.  It was thought to be a "Good Omen." - Bev Doolittle About Bev Doolitle (From COA)  Bev Doolittle’s subject matter is provided by the out-of-doors.  “I love nature,” she says.  “I try to look beyond the obvious and create unique, meaningful paintings that depict our Western wilderness and its inhabitants.  I start with a concept and then attempt to convey it through strong design coupled with detailed realism.  I want people to think when they look at my paintings.” Bev Doolittle was born and grew up in California.  In 1968, she graduated from the Art Center College of Design in Los Angeles.  She met her husband, Jay, at school, and they started married life with a painting trip to Bryce Canyon and Zion National Parks – a portent of things to come.  For the next five years, however, the Doolittles were engaged in advertising art and TV production in Los Angeles. “It paid well, but after awhile I wasn’t learning,” Bev explains, “and we didn’t like living in the city.  We wanted to be close to nature, and we wanted to travel.”  They have now accomplished both; their frequent travels and backpacking trips have covered the western United States, Canada, Baja, California, and East Africa, and they now live close to nature in California.Please Note This is an artist signed limited edition numbered 758 of only 1000!  The dimensions of the mat this print will be shipped in are approximately 23.5" x 34.5".  Folio is about 36" long.
