CANON EF 75-300mm f/4.5-5.6 IS USM **IMAGE STABILISER**Click any image to see it full size
  One of Canon's most affordable EF lenses with image stabilisation, the 75-300mm f/4.5-5.6 IS USM provides up to 2 stops of improvement in hand-held capability at slow shutter speeds. The image stabiliser gives this lens amazing real-world sharpness in many situations where a tripod would otherwise be essential. Without image stabilisation, tack sharp, hand-held shots are usually impossible at a shutter speed any slower than the reciprocal of the focal length. In plain English, if you're zoomed-in at 300mm, you must use a shutter speed of at least 1/320 to avoid blurry or soft-looking pictures. On digital bodies, the situation is even worse due to the crop-factor of the imaging sensor and, at 300mm, you would have to select a shutter speed of at least 1/500 to be assured of sharp images. With this lens I have personally managed to obtain tack sharp pictures at 1/60 @ 300mm and consistently sharp shots are easily achievable at 1/200 at the same focal length. Of course, the IS feature is available at all focal lengths and is useful not only for wildlife photography at maximum telephoto, but also for low available light photography where this lens effectively becomes a f/2.5-3.5. In addition to image stabilisation, this lens features Canon's USM ultrasonic auto-focus mechanism which provides fast and quiet auto-focus. Of course, the lens can be focused manually by the flick of a switch on the lens body. This lens is in MINT, totally unmarked, condition. The glass is free of any scratches, haze or fungus and the lens body is factory fresh. NOTE: Although this lens is in perfect working order, the AF mechanism occasionally squeaks.
